About Us

WaterWide is a non-profit organisation that tracks government spending for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for improved access in rural communities.

We envision a world where there is access for all to safe water, improved sanitation and proper hygiene and citizens’ are empowered to demand a transparent and accountable government. Using the power of technology, we amplify the unheard voices of people living in marginalised rural communities

WE TRACK

Government fund and International aid

Tracking of government spending and international aid can help to ensure that funds are spent judiciously, and not diverted to private pockets. It enables communities to ask: ‘Are public resources being used as planned? And are they bringing the expected results?’ It can lead to better public services for communities.

WE ADVOCATE

Amplifying unheard voices...

For us, advocacy never just raises awareness of an issue, problem or situation. It always seeks to change the policies, practices, systems, structures, decisions and attitudes that are causing the issue, problem or situation, in favour of people living in marginalised rural communities.

WE ARE CHARITABLE

Safe and reliable water restores hope and unlocks potential...

We provide help and raise funds for people living in rural communities because access to safe water, improved sanitation and proper hygiene are crucial to the development of any community.

WE TRAIN

Capacity building for people living in rural communities.

We build the knowledge and develop the capacity of relevant stakeholders in the water and sanitation sector and people living in rural communities to effectively track the implementation of government WASH projects, we also train them on best sanitation and hygiene habits and empower them to manage available water infrastructure.

OUR PARTNERS

DONATE

Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence.
Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink, but many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, nearly 1000 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.
