Can You Chip In?
In 2020 the Internet Archive has seen unprecedented use—and we need your help. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, our bandwidth demand skyrocketed. Right now we’re getting over 1.5 million daily unique visitors and storing more than 70 petabytes of data. We build and maintain all our own systems, but we don’t charge for access, sell user information, or run ads. Instead, we rely on individual generosity to fund our infrastructure; we're powered by donations averaging $32. Unfortunately, fewer than 1 in 1000 of our patrons donate.
We don't ask often, but right now, we have a 2-to-1 Matching Gift Campaign, tripling the impact of every donation. If each of our users gave just $5, we could end this fundraiser today—so if you find all these bits and bytes useful, please pitch in.
We know it's been a difficult year, and we understand if you can't afford to contribute. But if you can afford to lend a hand, I promise it will be money well spent. Thank you for your support.
