Nil HE increasing loss by fire of lives and
property can in a large measure be
#: Rºprevented by the exercise of ordinary
Šešº/care. Realizing this, and also that the
correction for the waste by fire lies in sound
education, the General Assembly has required
that a day be set aside in order that a specific
opportunity for the consideration of this prob-
lem may be had. Accordingly, I designate
Monday, October 10th next, as
3fire irruputint ſlau
and I earnestly recommend that thoughtful
attention be given on that day in our schools,
our places of employment, Our homes, and
through the press to the study and teaching
of fire prevention.
