The changed requirements for admission to the University have necessitated a few changes in the High School courses as compared with those of former years. The intention is to teach fewer subjects, but these at greater length, and conse- quently with more thoroughness. We offer three courses:–Latin, Scientific, and English. Graduates from the first two are received into the corres- ponding courses of the University of Michigan upon present- ing there a certificate from the Principal of the High School certifying that the whole course in the High School has been completed with satisfactory standings. The general average must be at least 85, and in English and Mathematics at least 90. In English and Mathematics, pupils will also be condi- tioned on passing unless their work maintains an average of at least 85, while as noted above, it requires an average of 90 in these branches to be recommended to the University of Michigan.
