Dear Sir, As a result of the recent Conference on Social Problems held in this city, an organization has been formed to be known as " The Social Problems Association of Toronto." In order to make the Association a strong one, and its work a success, it is absolutely necessary that we should have the hearty co-operation and active assistance of eveiy body of men and women who have for their aim the improvement of humanity. We desire, by all right and proper means, to help every one to rise to a higher social and moral condition. The organization which you represent is, we know, working for this end ; and we, therefore, earnestly request you to kindly bring this matter before its members, or the membership of your church, and urge them to appoint a delegate to assist the Executive Committee in their efforts to benefit society. We have no doubt if you, in common with others, select an active, enthusiastic man or woman, that the combined efforts of all such workers, representing societies with a common aim. must result eventu- ally in the accomplishment of our desire for the uplifting of mankind. We need a large membership to aid us in our work, and we trust you will cheerfully assist us in securing it by presenting the claims of the Social Problems Association as strongly as possible to your members. We desire to work with you, and it is only by means of your active assistance we can hope for the largest possible results. If you so desire, we will gladly send a deputation to inform you more fully than can be done in the accompanying circular, our aim and objects, and outline generally our mode of work. Please send the name of your delegate, and also the names, with the membership fees, of all those desiring to become members, not later than January^th^ 1894, as we want to have a full meeting of the General Committee at the earliest possible date so that we can commence active work. GEO. A. HOWELL, Secretary, 316 Wellesley Street, TORONTO. Toronto, January ist, 1894.
