The School is based upon the general plan and method of the English Public Schools, so far as the circumstances of the Province will allow. The C/Ourse of Instruction includes the usual branches of a liberal Education in Classics, Mathematics, English subjects, French, Elementary Physical Science, Book-keeping, Draw- ing, Gymnastics and Drill. Terms : The School year consists of ten months, or forty weeks, and is divided into three terms : — Michaelmas Term. — Second week in September to the week before C/hristmas. Lent Term. — Second week in January to April 14th. Summer Term. — May 1st to the end of July. There are three vacations in the year. School Work : The School hours are from to 12 (with 15 minutes recess before 11 o'clock), and from 1 to 8. Saturday is a whole holiday. Each day's work is begun and closed with a short service in the School Chapel, which all boys are expected to attend. Terminal reports are sent, stating the i)rogress and conduct of a boy during the Term concluded. In respect of physical training, a covered (lymnasium, Cricket, Lacrosse and Foot-ball in the Park on Beacon Hill, and exceptional opportunities for boating and bathing, under the superintendence and with the co-operation of ttie Masters themselves, ensure healthy physical recreation and amusement for the boys. Boarding : Until the erection of permanent School Buildings, boys from a distance art; received by the Head Master, in the Archdeaconry and a house immediately adjoining. Tlieir out of School time and evening work are under the personal supervision of the Head Master, and Mr. Walker, Resident House Master, and their home comforts are attend- ed to by Mrs. Badgley, who is assisted by a competent housekeeper.
