His Excellency <^e Governorîn Chief bas been pleased to order the Crown Lands in the Townships of Invemess and Leeds, near Craies Road,-tobe reserved for industrious settlers arriving from the United Kingdom ; thèse ^nds are distant from Québec 36 a 40 miles on the south side of the River St. Lawrence, with good roads afl the way, and a new road io the centre of Inverness will be finished this summer, and will afford employmeht to a considérable number of settlers ; the cliraate is exceedingly healthy, soil of the first quality, aboynding in numerous navigable lakes and rivers ; many Scotch, Englishand Irish families are located in this part of the country, and are exceedingly pleased with their situation, and they are now in a rapid state of improven\ent. Ferry boals ply daily from the market slip Lower Town to St. Nicholas, distant 12 miles up the St. ^awrence, on the south side, at which place Craig's Road commences. UPPER-OANADA. * His Excellency the Lieutenant Goir^mor has been pleased^to order to be reserved the Townships of Ops and Se) raour, and the adjoining lands in the District of Newcastle, Upper Canada, for the réception industrious Emigrants from the United Kingdom, and whb may be disposed to settle in that Province. ■^""^ are other situations where Emigrants mayget locations,^ but tothose who hâve no fixed places in ^thè District of Newcastle will be found, in every way, a most desireable situation. „. ^^6 '^"^^ aresituated aboutSO miles on the north side of Lake Ontario, and adjoining the pros'pe- f"- fous Township of Cavan, and near tbe Rlce and Coburgh Lakes. | •♦ Persons disposed tô locate in either of the above Provinces, (if approved of,) will be provided with a * ticket from the Office c^f His Majesty's Résident Agent for the Superintendence of Settlers in ihe Canadas, at Québec, to the locatibn Agent in the respective Townships, which will etUitle (he Settler to such Lot .ashe may choose, and vacant atthe time ; and on theback of such ticket^,,airections will befound for his guidance in proceeding to his destination. Agents are aiso stationed at Montréal and Prescott, to direct Emigrants who may wish to proceed to settle in Upper Canada.
