Permanent Committee, r" r»v. A Permanent Committee consisting of the Offi- cers of the Lodge for the time being, with the Secretary and Treasurer, and three Members (to be elected annually on St John the Evangelist's day,) shall superintend the finances and property of the Lodge, and consider of any special matter regarding its interests. They shall meet whenever summoned by the Master, five always to be a quo- rum, and the result of their proceedings shall be forthwith communicated to the Master, and shall be reported to the next subsequent General Meet- ing of the Lodge for approbation. The expence of providing a room for their meetings shall be paid from the general funds of the Lodge. ■**jr Sd. — ^The Master of the Lodge for the time being shall be the President of the Permanent Committee ; and they shall choose a Vice-Presi- dent at their first meeting, and one of them shall always preside at their meetings. . i . No person shall be initiated, in this Lodge, with- out a regular application in writing, stating his name and profession, age and place of abode, of which the Members are to be notified in their res- pective summonses, and on balloting, if there be found mare than one black ball, the Candidate cannot be admitted, but to prevent the possibility of a mistake, the ballots may be taken a second or even a third time. No Brother shall be admitted a Member of this Lodge without a regular application in writing, nor until his name, occupation and place of abode, shall have been sent to all the Members in the summonses for the next stated Lodge meeting, ^tKIt ^f^tmeiliititmapmimfMfiti) and on balloting should there be more than one black ball, the Candidate cannot be admitted. 2d. — ^No person shall be permitted to receive more than one degree on the same day, nor at a less interval than one month, from his receiving a former degree, nor shall he be passed or raised until he has been duly examined in open Lodge, in the previous degree. In no case shall there be more than five initiated on the same day. 3d. — Every Brother, on becoming a Member, shall sign the By-Laws, and be furnished with a printed copy thereof by the Secretary. XI CHAP. 12th. Of Visitors. 1st. — ^Visitors shall not be admitted into this Lodge, unless recommended or vouched for by one or more of the Members; they are to conform to the By-Laws, and pay the evening dues the same as if Members. Of Honorary Members. 1st. — The Members of this Lodge considering it a duty they owe to several Brethren, distin- guished by their rank in society, and by the great services they have rendered the craft, to grant them the privilege of becoming Honorary Mem- bers, have resolved that in all cases where Bre- thren so distinguished, shall make application to become Honorary Members, they shall be admit« ted if on a ballot there shall not be more than one black ball. If the meeting should be called on the general business of the Lodge, the expense shall be paid out of the funds of the Lodge; but, if at the request of any Brother for his benefit, oy progress, then to be paid by such Brother.
