 No. 1. 
 
 The Regular Meetings of this Lodge shall be 
 held on the Thursday nearest the full moon in 
 every month, at the Lodge Rooms, over Messrs 
 Hibben & Carswell's Building, Yates street, at 
 such hours as shall from time to time be thought 
 most convenient. 
 
 No. 2. 
 
 The Masonic Year shall commence with the 
 Regular Meeting in January. 
 
 No. 3. 
 
 ^ The Annual Subscription chall be #12, payable 
 in advance. 
 
 No. 4. 
 
 The Initiation Fee shall be Seventy-five Dollars 
 {$76) for the Three Degrees, including the Grand 
 Lodge and Register Fees, payable as follows,

 Any applicant for affiliation to this Lodge, wh« 
 is only an entered Apprentice, and having been 
 regularly admitted a member by ballot, shall have 
 the privilege of taking the Fellow Craft and 
 Master Mason Degrees, but they must be conferred 
 in strict conformity with Article 7, Page 83, of tht 
 Book of Constitution, and the Fees payable s 
 follows, viz:

 No. 5. 
 
 The Affiliation Fee shall be £3 23. 6d, or 
 fifteen Dollars ($15), including registering, 
 except in the case of Brethren not already regii- 
 tered in the Grand Lodge of England, who shal 
 be charged the additional fee of registration pay- 
 able to the Grand Lodge. 
 
 No. 6. 
 
 All petitions for Initiation or Affiliation must be 
 signed by the petitioner, and be recommended by 
 two members of the Lodge. Every such petition 
 Bhall be referred to a Committee of Three, whose 
 duty it shall be to report at the next stated meeting

 applicant may be balloted for, and received or 
 rejected, or the ballot may be postponed until the 
 ensuing stated meeting, as the Lodge may deter- 
 mine. 
 
 A 
 
 The petition must give the christian and sur- 
 name of the candidate, his age, profession, and 
 place of abode — that these particulars may be 
 correctly recorded, and mentioned in the next 
 summons. 
 
 No. 7. 
 The brother proposing a candidate for initiation, 
 shall, at the time of the proposition, deposit in 
 the hands of the Treasurer $'10. If the candidate 
 be iiot elected, the deposit shall be returned ; but 
 if the candidate be elected, and do not present 
 himself for initiation within three months after 
 his election (unless sufficient cause be shown for 
 his non-attendance,) the election shall become 
 voiJ, and the deposit money shall be forfeited to 
 the General Fund of the Lodge. 
 
 No. 8. 
 At the ballot for admitting a brother to join the 
 Lodge, his Grand Lodge certificate must be pro- 
 duced, together with the certificate of his former 
 Lodge, of all his dues being paid up. No brother

 No. 9. 
 
 All Fees for Initiation shall be due on the night 
 the ceremony takes place, and paid to the Sec- 
 retary before conferring the degree, and all Feea 
 for affiliating members on the night the ballot is 
 taken. In all ballots for candidates, whether for 
 initiation or affiliation, two black balls shall 
 exclude. 
 
 No. 10. 
 
 When a candidate for initiation or affiliation is 
 rejected, or a brother reprimanded, suspended or 
 expelled, no member or visitor shall reveal, either 
 directly or indirectly, to such person, or to any 
 other, any transactions which may have takea 
 place on the subject; nor shall any proceedings 
 of the Lodge, not proper to be made public, be 
 disclosed outside thereof, under the penalty of 
 reprimand or suspension, as the Lodge may 
 determine. 
 
 No. 11. 
 
 Every brother desirous of retiring from the 
 Lodge, shall give a written notice to that effect 
 before the expiration of the Masonic Year, other- 
 wise he will be charged with the subscription for 
 the succeeding year. 
 
 No. 12.

 advance, are therefore arrears if not so paid, and 
 shall be treated accordingly at the end of the 
 Masonic Year, when notice shall be given to 
 •very member in arrear, and if not paid within 
 two months, the offending members shall be 
 reported to the Lodge by the Secretary, and shall 
 be liable, by vote of the Lodge, to have their 
 names struck off from the list of r/iembers, and 
 returned to the Grand Lodge as defaulters. 
 
 No member in arrear shall be allowed to speak 
 or vote in the Lodge. 
 
 No. 13. 
 
 That brethren of the army and navy, not having 
 a permanent residence on Vancouver Island, and 
 who have become members of this Lodge, shall 
 pay an annual subscription of six dollars in 
 advance, in lieu of twelve dollars as per clause 3. 
 
 No. 14. 
 
 That no brother shall be admitted an honorary 
 member of the Lodge, except upon a proposition 
 to be decided by ballot, as specified in the Article 
 for the Admission of Candidates ; but such honor- 
 ary member cannot vote on any occasion. 
 
 No. 15. 
 
 That the Master be empowered to convene a 
 Lodge upoE any emergent occasion.

 The Treasarer shall keep an exact account of 
 all moneys received and paid on account of the 
 Lodge, in strict conformity with Article 16, Page 
 65, of the Book of Constitution. The accounts 
 to be audited annually, and the balance appearing 
 to be due to the Lodge, shall be paid oyer to the 
 newly elected Treasurer, as soon as his inyestiture 
 shall take place. 
 
 No. 17. 
 
 Authorized payments are as follows, tiz : 
 
 Monthly rent of Lodge Room, as per lease, 
 £10 Is. 8d., or $50. 
 
 Tyler, for each stated meeting, £1 Os. lOd., or 
 $5 00. 
 
 Tyler, for those of emergency, 10s. 5d., or 
 $2 50. 
 
 The first special payments that shall be made 
 out of the General Fund of the Lodge, must be 
 the debt due the First Worshipful Master a^d 
 Wardens of this Lodge, for moneys advanced in 
 making the place of meeting suitable for Lodge 
 purposes, and furnishing the same with the 
 requisite regab'^. and completing the purchase of 
 jewels, working tools and furniture, as per 
 account recorded in the minute book. Upon

 The cash, arrears of contribution, furniture and 
 other appendages, belonging to this Lodge, shall 
 be, and the same, by the consent of all the mem- 
 bers, arc hereby vested in, and shall be deemed 
 the property of the Master and Wardens for the 
 time being, in trust for the use and benefit of the 
 Lodge, and to be paid, applied, and disposed of, 
 as the majority of the members shall from time to 
 time in due form direct; and an inventory of the 
 jewels, furniture, &c., «&c., belonging to the 
 Lodge, shall be entered in the Minute Book, and 
 a copy of the same delivered to the Master at his 
 Installation, who shall see that the same ia 
 correct., and then pass them over to the Treasurer, 
 who shall be responsible to him for their safe 
 keeping. 
 
 No. 19. 
 
 That a Committee, consisting of the immediate 
 Past Master and the two Wardens, shall audit the 
 Treasurer's accounts, between the period of Elec- 
 tion and Installation of the Master, and shall 
 superintend the finances and property oft the 
 Lodge. A written report of their proceedings, 
 with a clear and ample statement of the funds of 
 the Lodge, shall De laid before the next meeting 
 of the members.

 mittee, in examining the Treasurer's and other 
 accounts, to issue the summonses for all meetings,

 The Tyler shall deliver the summonses without 
 delay, immediately he receives them. He is to 
 have the Lodge Room ready by the time specified, 
 to attend regularly, and to be careful that the 
 furniture and jewels are clean and in geod order. 
 
 No. 22. 
 
 The "Worshipful Master and the two Wardens 
 shall be a Charity Committee, and shall have 
 power to draw upon the Treasurer for any sum 
 not exceeding $'20 at any one time, for the relief 
 of a distressed worthy brother, his wido\< or 
 orphans. 
 
 No. 23. 
 
 No new law, or repeal or alteration of an old 
 one, shall become valid, until it shall have received 
 the sanction of a two-third vote of the Lodge at 
 two- successive meetings.

 That a Lodge of Instruction be held under tho 
 sanction of this Lodge, for the improvement of 
 its members, at such times as the W. M. may

 The Election of Worshipful Master, Treasurer 
 and Tyler, shall take place at the regular meeting 
 in December, and the Instalation of Worshipful 
 Master at the regular meeting in January, who 
 shall then appoint the other officers. It shall 
 also be the Annual Festival, the Banquet to be 
 paid for on that occasion by the brethren who 
 partake of it, unless the Lodge shall otherwise 
 direct. 
 
 No. 27. 
 
 That a copy of the By-laws be fully transcribed 
 in a proper book, and signed by every member of 
 the Lodge as a pledge of his intention to observe 
 and keep the same, and that a printed copy shall 
 be dj...'ered to him. They shall also be read by 
 the Secretary in open Lodge, at least once ia 
 every year,
