AUDITORS. r4 Two Auditors shall be elected at the annual busi- ness meeting of the Society, to examine the currrent year . accounts, and to report thereon at the next annual busmess meeting. ADMISSION. 15 Membership in the Society shall be open to ama- teurs and to such professionals as are willmg to assist the orchestra gratuitously. 16 Applications for membership shall be in writing, addressed to the Secretary, and shall be by him submitted to the Committee. 17 If the Committee approve of an application the candidate shall submit to examination by the Examining Board as to his or her executive ability. 18. Before examination by the Board the candidate may be inviteU oy the Couuuittcc lu atL^n^^ on^ .-s practices of the Orchestra. 19- On receipt of a favourable report from the Examin- ing Board, the Committee shall cause the applicant's name to be subnntted to the Society at any meeting (for practice or otherwise) for election. 20. Voting shall be by ballot, and one black ball in ten shall exclude. FEES. 21. There shall be no regular membership fees, but the Committee shall have power to assess the members from tmie to tmie as occasion may require, provided that such as- sessments taken together shall never, in any year exceed the sum of two dollars. ' HONORARY MEMBERS. 22. Honourary Members may be elected by the Com- mittee, on such terms and subject to such conditions as the Committee may decide, provided that such members shall not have the right to vote at any business meeting of the Society. ' EXPULSION. 23. Any member who is absent without sufficient reason from three consecutive practices of the Orchestra, who is one 10 month in arrears in the payment of any assessment of fees, or who is guilty of any misconduct, likely, in the opinion of the Committee, to injuriously affect the welfare, interest or character of the Society, may be expelled from the Society by a two-thirds vote of the members present at a special meeting of the Committee called for the purpose of consider- ing such charges. Provided that the said charges shall be forwarded in writing by the Secretary, to the member so charged, at least one week before the meeting of the Com- mittee at which they are to be considered, at which meeting he or she shall have the right to be present and to be heard- PRACTICES. 24. The Orchestra shall, as far as practicable, meet for practice at least once in each week during the season, the practice night to be determined from time to time by the Committee. ANNUAL MEETING. 25. The annual business meeting of the Society for the election of officers, of which due notice shall be given, shall take place during the month of September in each year, un- less the Committee shall otherwise order. 26.
