Whenever the Governor of this Province shall, by Proclamation, declare that the said Treaty has taken effect according to the terms thtreof) the articles enumerated in the sciiedule liereunto annexed, being tiie growth and produce of the said United States, shall be admitted into this Province flee of duty, so long as the said Treaty shall remain in force ; except that if at any time the said United States shall, under the terms of the said Treatv, suspend the operation of the third article thereof, so fiu- as this Province is affected theicby, then the (loveriior of this Province may, if he see tit, declare such suspension by Proclamation, alter which the exemption fiom duty under this Act shall cease while such siifpen.sion shall continue, but the Governor may again, whenever such suspension shall cease, declare the same by Pro- clamation, from and after whicli such exemption shall again take effect, II. It shall be lawful for the Governor in Council, by any Order or Orders to be made for that purpose, to do anything which shall be found necessary to be done on the part of this Province to give full eti'ect to the said Treaty, and any such Order shall have the same cHect as if the object thereof were expressly provided for by this Act. III.
