W. of Lodge No, 3, — Brother H. M*Kenzie was appointed to the, Chair, and Brother Bethune, Secretary, — when it was resolved that the following By-Laws for the government of the said Grand Lodge, and regu* lations for the guidance of the private Lodges of the District, and means for the establishment of a Local Fund, be recommended to the Grand Lodge for its approbations 1st. All the Regulations contained in the Con- stitutions published, under the authority of the Grand Lodge of England, by the R. W. William Williams, P. G. M. of the County of Dorset, for the government of Provincial Grand Lodges, and their Officers^ as well as those Regulations of tlie * p< wp Grand Lodge of England touching the Regaha and .Contributions, together with the additional feowers granted to District. William Henry. Sd. Instead of Sec. 2, Page 53 of the Book of Coiistitrtipns, the following is adopted: — The present and past P. G. Officers, being subscribing Members of any Lodge within the District, with the Master, immediate Past-Master and Wardena of every Lodge, are ]^J embers of the Provincial G^rand Lodge, and the, Master and Wardens shall attenfithe samp when duly summoned, or depute someBrother who is a subscribing Member to some Lodge within the City of Montreal, to represent thpm. — Each Deputy shall exhibit his authority, in writing, to the proper Officer of the Grand L9dge, and shall wear a proper Jewel to be fur- nished by the Lodge whose Deputy he is ; provi- 4ed always that such Deputy be not a Master or Warden of any Lodge within the City of Mon- treal, -■ • ' 3d. If any of the Grand Officers do ncit attend their duty in Grand Lodge, they shall be subject to the following fines, (to be paid to the general fund of charity) unless they can give good and sufficient reasons, for their absence or neglect, to he determined by the Grand Lodge, viz. : for the first i;ieglect, the ;:benior Grand Warden, 20s, tlijQ V V J. Any Officer of the Grand Lodge who shall Hot be present in the Hall of the Grand Lodge at the hour of meeting shall pay a fine Of 5s. and every Member of the Grand Lodge guilty of the like neglect, shall pay a fine of 2s. 6d. to be paid to the general fund of cliarity. 5th. Four Grand Lodges shall be holden, for quarterly communication, in each year, viz. : the Becond Monday in the months of March, June, September and December, at which none shall be present but tlie proper Members, without permis* sion of the G. M. or otlier presiding Grand Offi>. cer. No visitor shall speak to any question without leave of the presiding Grand Officer, nor shall he, on any occasion, be permitted to vote. 6th. The present G. Officers shall pay for the Aprons which have been provided for the use/of the Grand Lodge, and all Grand Officers shall, in future, be bound to provide their own clothing, which shall be according to the pattern now in use. The Officers of tlie Grand Lodge, with the exception of the Tyler ; the Master, Past-Master and Wardens of every Lodge, in the District, or the Deputies of Country Lodges, present or ab* sent, shall pay 5s. each per quarter towards de- fraying the expences of the Grand Lodge. * 9th.
