For years Canadians have believed in the existence of their mineral wealth, but the capital and enterprise necessary for the exploration and development of the great mineral regions have been wanting. The published Reports of the Government Geological Departments and Min- ing Bureaus, the extensions of our railroad and navigation systems, and the extraordinary success of some of the pioneer Mining Companies, are now attracting the atten- tion of the world, and the Canadian dold Hills are rapidly becoming the Mecca for European and American Capitalists. $fi^ t^^ ^2F^ Co-operation. The fruit of all business and labor is money. A more direct means of attaining wealth is to mine the precious metals, and though the ordinary individual has neither the time nor the capital to seek it in this crude condition, many individuals may (5) by combinations achieve results not permitted to tlie few. The Gold Hills Exploration and Development Company, ot Toronto (Limited), is bein^ formed on sound business co-oper- ative principles, so that each shareholder, no matter how small his holding^, may benefit by the strength that comes from num- bers and the control of capital, and thereby secure for himself a share in the golden harvest. The best form oi' mining In^'estment is the Development Company when prt^perly formed, as it does away with middle men, and its shareholders get, or should get, the first profit, always the most important. A number of valuable gold, silver and copper propositions in the best fields have been already secured. J^ tS^ f^* I Its Field of Work. The Company will have information (already confidentially secured .or that purpose), on which it can act at the first open- ing of Spring, by placing in the field a number of prospecting parties on a region of extraordinary promise, which is as yet known to only a few. «^* e^*" e^* Responsible Directorate/ Every man on the Board of Directors is well and favorably known in Canada. None of them would be connected with a project that was not perfectly sound, nor could they afford to allow their names to be used in promoting any Mining Company of a merely speculative character. <6) Prospects of Success. \ Ihev believe in the extraordinary richness of Canada's newly-found mineral wealth ; ilioy think that the system on which this Company proposes to operate will promote the hon- est development of that wealth, and thoy are of opinion that there are sources of large legitimate profits for the share- holders of this Compaii) . The Company will have its own Mining Experts and Engineers, and will only deal in claims and mines favor- ably reported upon. iS^ tlf* uf' Principal Objects of the Company. (j) The Company will secure by exploration, throuj^'-h its Mining Ag-ents and employees, ^^old, silver and other mineral claims, and will sell the same, or partially develop and sell, to other persons or companies as will secure the best and quick- est returns to its shareholders. There are scores of mining- claims which show surface indications of gold or silver, or both, but unless and until they have been thoroughly tested by some expenditure in opening them up, they cannot be submitted to the examination of skilled iMining Engineers. It is the theory of this Company that it is immensely in the interest of mining that claims should be fairly tested before they arc! placed on the market. This Company will start operations with options and contracts extending over the best mining fields in Canada, and will continue to secure more while developing (7) • those in hand. The extent to which expenditure will be made will depend on the advice of experts. Before offering any property for sale the Company will be ready to lay before in- tending purchasers the carefully-prepared reports of the best Mining Experts. The prices will vary with the stage of devel- opment and the nature of the reports. In this way no invest- or need be misled. They will know wha^ they are getting so far as the best advice can guide them, and they will have the chances always before them of great gains, and a minimum chance of loss. The services of a practical and thoroughly reliable man, who has explored the Kootenay, have already been secured for the Company in British Columbia. (2) The Company will also promote and form other Com- panies, both on this Continent and in Europe, for the purpose of acquiring and operating mines now secured, or to be secured, by t.Js Company. {3) Will deal in mining shares, and act as Mining Brokers generally, and appoint Agents throughout Canada and else- where to represent the Company, and especially the Brokerage Department of the Company. (4) Will be a medium of information to its shareholders on all matters pertaining to mining and mining stocks in Ontario, British Columbia, and elsewhere, enabling each shareholder to receive the very latest news from the Company's confidential Agents at the mining centres. (5) Having its private prospectors, good claims can be secured at first cost, of which every shareholder gets the profit and all the profit. Ordinary Mining Companies are often capitalized at tens of thousands of dollars beyond the first cost, thereby depriving the shareholder of the first, and frequently (8) ( ( i I the largest, profit. Every prospector of this Company will be in the position of a private prospector and locator for each shareholder. There will be no middle owners and no middle profits. f^^ t^^ %^^ History of Similar Companies.
