Geo. 8. on tho subject of oppositions not having any application to an opposition, the roftsons of which are based upon tho invalidity of tho writ of vendilimi ej^mm itself. Indeed it ia manifest that tho statute assumes the oxiLtence of a valid writ oivend. ex. and contemplates only causes of opposition arising txtrinaimWi, novor intending to enact the absurdity that such a writ, however defective and null, can under no circumstances be •et aside. Accordingly the Courts have always token this view and have without difficulty mMntained oppositions to annul such writs, for causes invalidating tho writ itself.
