 general break up, [ found all 1 could do to make my way down Lesser Shnc Lake and 
 River a distance of about 170 miles, and I followed the .Vthabasca for about 9(,i miles to 
 Athabasca Landing, The timber alonv the Le.s.ser Slave Piiver- is burnt otf in nianv 
 ])iaces as is the case also on the Athabasca, the upper part of which is very similar to 
 the parts I had travelled over at its northern oi' lower exti-emity. 1 arrivpd at .Vtha-
