The Grand Lodj-e of the Ancient Order of United Workmen of Ontario was orjfanized on the i8th day of February, 1S79, at London, Ont., and was set apart as a se[>arate Meneficiary Juris- diction on the 1st day of June, 1880, and became an Independent Jurisdiction June 25th, 1897. Mkmbership. — The selection ot 1.. embers is as nearly perfect as possible. A strict medical examination ; the recommendation of two members ; investijfation of each applicant's moral and physical character by an investij^atinif committee, and a secret ballot in the Lodg-e to which application is made, are all neces- sary before membership can be obtained. The A. O. U. \V. wants none but those who are morally anil physically sound, and it uses every method possible to make the very best selection of members with such qualifications. Thk At;i-: Limit.
