All persons applying for free Grants of Land, either as U. K. Loyalists, Naval or Military Claim- ants, must address IJis Excellency the Lieutenant Governor, by Peti- tion, through His Secretary. Persons desirous of Grants of Land, by Purchase, are to apply to the Ilonblo. Peter Robinson, Com- missioner of Crown Lands. The Petitioner must take the Oath of Allegiance before one of the Commissioners appointed for that purpose, and a Certificate of his having done so will be required to accompany his Petition. The Petition, as soon as it shall have received His Excellency's or- der thereon, is referred to the Sur- veyor General, for a report, which is transmitted to His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor and the Ex- ecutive Council, for consideration and decision. His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor in Council, having decided upon the Petition, if the same be allowed, an Order is made thereon and forwarded to the Surveyor General, when the Pe- titioner may be forthwith located, subject to certain conditions annex- ed to his Location Ticket.
