That the Association shall be called and known by the name of «• The Osgoode C[u&." 3. That the office bearers of the Club shall be, a President, and three Vice Presidents, who shall have taken a degree in the Law Society ; a Secretary and Treasurer— all of whom shall be members of the Club. 4. That during the Sessions no meetings for the usual exercises of the Club shall be held. 12. That the hour for opening all meetings of the Club, throughout the year, shall be 7 o'clock, P. M. 13. That the Club shall meet on every Monday throughout the year, except during the Sessions, when so many meetings, and on such days, shall be held, as may be determined at the meeting next preceding each Session, respectively. 14 That any member of the Law Society may be- come a member of the Club on producing the Treasure er's receipt for the subscription for the current half year to the Secretary, who shall thereupon enter his name on the register of the Club. 15 That every member of the Club shall pay to the Treasurer thereof, on or before the last day of every Session, a half yearly subscription of Ten Shillings. 16 That any member failing to pay his half yearly subscription during the Session, shall cease- to be a member ; and that it shall be the duty of the Treasurer, within one week after the termination of each Session, to notify the names of defaulters to the Secretary, who shall thereupon remove their names from the register of the Club. 17. That the usual exercises of the Club, after the reading of the minute?, save during Session, shall be as follows: I. Motions and notices of motion. II. Stated Exorcises. I. Reading of Essays. II. Law Arguments. I. Those appointed by Com. of selection. II. Those fixed on motion. III. Volunteer Exercises— in a similar manner. 20. The President and Vice Presidents, whh such other members of the Club as they may choose, shall form a Committee for the selection of subjects for the second order of the day : which Committee shall, at each Session, form a syllabus of subjects for original essays and debates for the ensuing half year, to be in- serted in the Case-book of the Club ; and that at each meeting the Secretary shall announce the subjects for the essay to be read, and the qneslion to be discussed, at the second meeting thereafter; that thereupon the President, or other presiding ofTicer, shall appoint the rx^rann in r«a.d the essav, and two persons to argue on each side of the question for discussion. That voluntary essays may be read by any mem- ber who shall have given one week's notice thereof. 22. That the meeting to be held in the first week of each month shall be open for the discussion of ques- tions, appointed as provided in the succeeding rule. 23. That any member may, upon motion at the meet- ing held a fortnight previous to the open one, have such subject appointed for discussion as he may propose ; that in case none shall be so appointed, then the pre- siding officer shall nominate one. 24. That the proposer of any subject for discussion at «uch open meeting shall, if it be adopted, have the right of naming his supporter, and shall be required to furnish four copies of the motion to the Secretary, for the use of the different parties. That the presiding offi- cer shall nominate the persons to support the opposite side of such question. 26. That the leader on the affirmative side of the question shall commence the argument, to be followed oy the leader of the negative— and so alternately for the other parties. The leader on the affirmative to have a general reply. 26. That all the votes of the Club for the election of officers, or other purposes, shall be given by ballot.
