The name of this Society shall be " The Woman'H Morning Music Club." ARTICLE IL The objects of the organization are to promote in Ottawa the best class of music, and to develop latent talent — hoping to enlist the sympathy of all. ARTICLE IIL The Society shall consist of Active and Associate members. Those desiring to become Active members will be required to submit their names to the Music Committee, the fee being one dollar a year. Associate membership fee, two dollars. Sec. 1. — Additional members from the same family may become associates by the payment of one dollar each. Sec. 2 — Payment of fee constitutes membership. f,'. \, ARTICLE IV. The management of the Club shall be vested in a President, three or more Vice-Presidents, two Secretaries, two Treasurers, a Music Committee and a Sub-committee. ARTICLE V. The Executive Committee is to be elected an- nually by vote of the entire Club. The Music Com- mittee is to be elected by the Active members from among themselves. ARTICLE VL The Executive Committee is to have full and complete control and disposal of the affairs, property and funds of the Club, and no member of the Club shall incur any debt or pecuniary liability without its consent. ARTICLE VIL The Music Committee shall appoint the time and place of holding the concerts to be given, if possible, every Thursday morning throughout the season. ARTICLE VIIL The Chairman of the Music Committee shall call regular meetings of the Active members at such time and place ad shall be decided upon by that Committee, thi ani PrI I in 70 a |an- )m- rom I J and all Active members shall contribute to the en- tertainment of the Club when required by the Music Committee, or provide a substitute. ARTICLE IX. A member may introduce a non-resident to one or two concerts. Sec. I. — Membership tickets of similar clubs in other cities admit to all concerts of this Club. ARTICLE X. The Annual Meeting shall be held the first week of October, due notice of which is to be given to every member of the Club. ARTICLE XL Special meetings may be called by the Secretary at the request of a quorum of the Executive Committee or upon an order of the President (or Vice-President,) due notice of which is to be given to each member of the Club. ARTICLE XIL The President or one of the Vice-Presidents, with three members of the Executive Committee shall at any time form a quorum, or in the absence of the President or Vice-President, eight members of the ■ ' ' i ' t :i »■ 'M\ Executive sLall be considered a quorum. Two or more of the Music Committee shall be required to be present at this meeting. ARTICLE Xlir. PRESIDENT. No. 1,— The President shall be the Chief Execu tive officer of the whole Club and ex-officio chairman of all committees. On the arrival of the appointed hour the President or in her absence one of the Viee-Preuidents, or in the absence of both a chairman pro tintf shall immediately take the chair, call the meeting to order and preside. She shall have a cast iiJg vote. SECRETARY. No. 2. — It shall be the duty of the Secretary to i?onduct the correspondence of the Society and to pre- sei'va all letters received by her ; and at each meeting of the Club or Executive Committee she shall report tb« correspondence and read such parts of it as may be ri(iuired. It shall be her duty to give due notice of the time and place of all meetings and to attend the same. !• / ,r } 'if i \' i 8he shall keep accurate minutes of the proceedings of the Club. She shall give immediate notice to the several ofhcers and committees of all votes and pro- ceedings affecting them and their duties. She shall have charge of the records and archives of the Club and shall be ex-officio a member of all committees. TREASURER. No. 3. — The Treasurer shall collect and keep the funds of the Club, shall pay all bills, (the ex- penditure of which must have been authorized by the Committee of Management and certified by the Pre- sident or her legal substitute), and shall present at the Annual Meeting a full account (duly vouched and audited) of all her receipts and expenditures. This statement of the Treasurer is to be presented to the President and Executive Committee ten days before each Annual Meeting. No. 4. — The Music Committee shall arrange for morning concerts weekly, in order to stimulate the Active members to greater efforts for the promotion of a higher musical taste and culture and for the en- tertainment of tbe Associate members. It shall take charge of the music, printing, and all the details of such concerts. No. 6. — The detailed expenses of every concert must be sent by the Chairman of the Music Com- mittee to the Treasurer. No. 7. — AssociatiB members may be callad upon to assist in the entertainment or work of the Club.
