Yet many, yea most among us, withhold thb tribute so justly due. No further proof is needed to show and demonstrate that this is a ^Ibyal and rebellious world. It would not be correct to say, that all who pray are loyal subjects qf the Great King, and shall be received at length into his court in heaven. Biit on th^ other hand, it would be perfectly correct to say,|hat those who do not pray, are guilty of high treason against ** the Blessed and Onfly Potentate," and shall receive the condign punishment due to traitors in the great day when God shall judge this world which he made and redeemed. — Ye therefore who pray not, hear, and fear, and turn unto the Lord without delay, lest ye be shut up speedily in the everlasting prbon-house, out of which no prayers can deliver you. •'•■ . INDIVIDUAL PRAYER FOR TUESDAY EVENING. Father Almighty, maker and governor of all, I adore thee in thy out-goings of the mornings and the evenings. How glorious art thou, O Lord, in all thy works. O that my eyes were directfid, and cleared, to se^ thee in them all, and that I might be led to adore the^in them all, as I ought to do. O fill me with the highest sense of thy wisdom and goodness in all thy works, and iu all thy arrangements. Blessed be thy name, O God, for the return of the evening. The sun has gone down at thy command, and thou hast drawn the curtain of darkness over all. Blessed be thy name, O God, for the rest thou preparest for man after the labours of the day. Blessed be thy name for the sweet sleep which thou causest to fall upon us for our refreshment and restoration. O may thy goodness herein be seen and felt by me, in my lying dot^n and in my awaking. Tune my last thoughts at night, O my God, and my first thoughts in the morning, to praise Jhee, and to adore thee ; and may I rejoice in thee, through Christ, as my own beloved heavenly Father, and my God.
