' " ^ v^ - 4^ , T , ' To he used at the Meeting of Sunday School Teachers.* Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, who didst establish thy holy Church and Commission therein a ministry to extend the knowledge of salvation through thy Son our Saviour Jesus Christ, and who hast called these thy servants, as subordinate agents thereof, to aid in imparting to the young a knowledge of the principles of the doctrine of Christ : Give unto them we beseech thee such qualifications as befit their office : make them modest, humble, and constant in the discharge of its duties. May they ever have before their eyes, their responsibility herb, to those to whom as ministers of thy Church, thou hast committed the feeding of thy lambs, and hereafter to that good Shepherd who gave his life for them. Grant unto them wisdom, patience, diligence, zeal, and devotion. Touch their hearts with compassion for the ignorant, and them that are out of the way : and may the love of Christ constrain them to do what they may, within their proper sphere, to bring them unto Him. And while thus made humble instruments in promoting the spiritual welfare of others, save them from the inconsistency of being indifferent to their own. Enlighten their minds more and more with the light of the everlasting gospel, graft in their hearts the love of thy Name, increase in them true religion, nourish them with all goodness, and of thy great mercy keep them in the same ; through Jesus Christ cur Lord.
