For the general convenience of the several Garrisons in Upper and Lower Canada, and in order to afford a bettor facility of reference to Individuals concerned, and for the examination of the Public Accounts, His Lordship the Commander of the Forces, upon the recommendation of the Commissary General, has been pleased to approve of the promulgation in General Orders of the annexed condensed Schedules of Pay and Allowances authorized to be issued in this Command, and which wili supercede the ne- cessity of drawing upiue Annual EstaMishments. Printed Copies of these Schedules will be furnished to each Corps and Department, and all future alterations or appointments must be notified in General Orders, as the authority upon which tijey are to be carried into effect. The period of Winter Fuel will commence in future on the 25th instead of the 24th September, and terminate on the 6th instead of the 5th May. The Staff Pay is issued upon Warrant on the 25th of every second month, but the Pay to the Indian Department and to the appointi.ients in theMililary Offices &c. and all Allowances will be issued monthly, on the 25th of each month on printed pay-lists provided by the Comnjissariat and filled in bv the respective Departments, under the signature of the senior Ofllicer, which pay-lists are to be transmitted to the Commissariat Ofllice a few days previous- ly to the 25th for examination, so that there may be no delay in the payment.
