Their names shall be posted in the Club- room before election. The election shall be by ballot, upon the second Saturday after nomination ; one black ball in four to exclude, and at least live votes must be recorded. The ballot shall remain open until 4.30 p.m. on the Monday following. The subscription of newly elected mem- bers shall become payable within two weeks of their election. A rejected candidate cannot be again pi'oposed until the next year. YI. All members of reo-nlarly organized jVinateur Rowing Clubs, at home or abroad, bhnll be admissible as privileged members, dining a period not exceeding two weekc* in any one year, on being introduced by a member. YII. IX. 6U Honorary mem here shall pay an annual Entrance bscription of Three dollars (Is.) fee and si Active members shall pay an entrance fee of Five dollars (S5) and an annual sub- scription of Five dollars ($5.) Any gentleman may become a life mem- ber upon theyjaymentof Fifty dollars ($50) iifter being elected as such in the usual manner. Liability. X. The annual subscription shall be due on or before the annual ;Lj;eneral meeting in each year, and no member can exercise any privilege of membership by voting for officei-s, being elected an oflBcer, voting for candidates, introducing privileged mem- bers, rowing in Club races or in any other way whatsoever, until his subscription be paid. xr. ISTo member shall bo liable or responsible for any debt or liability of the Club to any amount greater than his subscription and other dues unpaid. XII. Non-pay- Members not paying their subscriptions ment ot sub- by the end of April shall be notified in- scription, -vvriting by the Treasurer. On the last Monday in May the Treasurer shall place before the Committee the names- of those in arieai's, and the Secretary shall inform such members, in writing, that they have been so reported. On the last Monda}' in June the Com- mittee shall stiiko off the roll of members- the names of all those who have not paid ' eir annual subscription, without further notice ; and statement of such action shall CONSTITUTION AND REGULATIONS. 11 and the Secretary shall inform, by letter, the ex-raembers of their dismissal. These gentlemen may, however, be read- mitted upon assigning to the Committee reasons, which the said Committee shall consider sufficient, for their having failed to make payment. XIII. Members wishing to resign must tender Resignation^ theif i'e>-ignations to the Secretary, before or at the annual general meeting of the Club, otherwise such members will be held liable for the ensuing year's subscriptions ; the receipt of such resignations to be acknowledged by the Secretaiyin writing. XIY. General meetings of the Club shall be Meetings. held on the first Tuesday of every month during the rowing season, and when neces- sary during the winter. Committee meetings shall be held every Monday afternoon during the rowing season, and when necessary during the winter. The annual general meetings of the Club shall be held on the first Tuesday in April of every year.
