The object of tlio book is to impart to our youth information concerning the properties and effects of alcohol, with a view to impressing them with the danger and nt udlessnesa of its use. The author of the work in the celebrated Dr. Richardson, of England ; and this book, though somewhat less bulky, being printed in sinaller type, contains the whole of the matter of the English edition , slightly rearranged as to some of the chapters, to suit the requirement!', of our public school work. It is, however, but half the price of the English edition. The subject is treated in a strictly scientific manner, the celebrated author, than whom there is no better authority on this subject, using the researches of a lifetime in setting forth the facts of which the book discourses.
