Macdonald ^^ QOEEN'S P^^'^' Toronto. October 13th, 1894. WITH r^OMPLIMENTS OF D. McIntosh & Sons, DESIGNERS AND CONTRACTORS FOR THE PEDESTAL SUPPORTING STATUE. MONUMENTAL SCULPTORS, 524 Yonge Street. ■"o..^^ V V -^ T was fitting that in erecting a memorial to Canada's foremost Statesman care should be taken tHat it is as nearly as possible Canadian in material and workmanship. So far as the Pedestal .is concerned it is entirely SO, the granite being quarried in the Province of Quebec, and the whole of the work being done by Canadian workmen in this City. Hitherto the impression has prevailed that for this class of work we must go abroad, but we venture to think that we have proved that there is material and skill to work it in our own country equal to any that has ever been brought from other lands.
