 More extensive repairs have been made to the I'oad the past 
 year, than durinu' any ])revious year; and unich remains to be 
 done. 
 
 The bridue over the Androscogu'in river, at Hrunswick, has 
 been thoj'ounlily repaired and strengthened, at an expense of 
 ibnr thousand six hundred and seventy seven dollars and nine- 
 tv two cents. ( 4.(5 7 7 92) and is now believed to be as stronu- 
 and secure as any railroad b' " lue in the State. 
 
 The bridges at Farmington and Kast Wilton have been thor- 
 oughly i-epaired, and considerable repairs have also l)een made 
 upon other Itridges. 
 
 About half a mile of new rails, and o8,0(J0 new sleepers, 
 have been laid. One third of a mile of new side tracks have 
 been put down, and others are being put in where refjuired, as 
 fast as practicable. 
 
 Most of the depots, especially those upon the upi)cr end of 
 the road, have received long needed repairs. 
 
 These, with ret)airs to the road bed and culverts, have kept 
 the i)roperty in a good and safe condition. 
 
 The ti-ains, both freight*and passenger, have been run with 
 great regularity and i)romptitude, and no accident has occurr-

 ^rorc merchandise and passenoer cars are required; a con- 
 siderable portion of tke road, needs re-fencing; additional car 
 houses and woodsheds arc necessary for the preservation of the 
 property of the road, and further repairs and alterations to the

 depots, must he made, to accommodate an increase of hnsin«iss. 
 and to meet the requirements of tlie times. 
 
 We cannot close our report without testifying to the ability 
 and unAvearied exertion, which the Superintendent, Mr. J3rowii, 
 has displayed in the discharge of the responsible duties of his 
 office. Great credit is also due to the Road-Master, Mr. AVaL% 
 to the Master of Machinery, Mr. Russell, and to the ^faster of 
 Car repairs, Mr. Greenwood, for the efficiency with which 
 they have managed their respective departments, and to all the 
 employees of the road, for their fidelity, and care, and general 
 regard for the interests of the Company.
