That tlils Associjitioii be called the Church Street Younu IVIen's Christian Association. lil LE li. That the objects of this Association are 1st. To promote the religions and mental improvement ot" its members and of the community generally. 2nd. To promote the due observance of the Sab1)al]i. 3rd. To procure Lectures on religious subjects in f'luiher- ance of the above named objects, and also on scientific and li- terary subjects, having reference to inoral and mental improve- ment. 4th. To found a Library and open a Reading Room. RULE IIL That the election of members sbiU be by ballot. The can- didate must be proposed by a mei oer of the general Commit- tee at one of its meetings, and a vote of two-thirds of those present shall be decisive. In the same manner a member may be excluded on conviction of improper conduct. RULE IV. The person so elected must pay two shillings and sixpence per annum in advance, if under eighteen years of age ; if mcn-e than eighteen years of age, five shillings per annum in ad- vance. RUi.E VIII, That all the olfieers of this Associatien be elected annu.ally on the second Tuesday of January, except lialf the members of the Standing Committee, and that only half tliis Committee go out of office annually. It shall be the duty of the President, or in his absence one of the Vice Presidents, to preside at all meetings of the Asso- ciation. RULE X. It shall be the duty of the Recording Secretary to notify the members of the Committees of ^he time and place of meet- ing, to attend the same, to notify all officers of their election, and to keep a fair and complete record of the transactions b the Association.
