The Me- chanics' Institute Library now consists of more than 8000 volumes, and each month additions are made of the newest and best books. Attention is especially directed to the valu- able collection of Historical and Scientific Work?, as well as to the Library of Reference. The other departments of the library will be found to be well filled with choice books. The Directors are doing what they can to extend the. influence and usefulness of this valuable library. They hope that a genorous public will assist them in their efforts in a practical w£.y by becoming members. The membership fee is only one dollar, which gives every privilege of the institution.
