 fact. Both in love with Leonora. Seek her at the Palace. 
 Leonora hearing Manrico's seranade — issues forth and is con- 
 fronted by the Count. Manrico appears and the act ends in a 
 duel. Second Act repres'"uts Leonora, who determines to enter 
 a convent. She is intercepted by the Count and opportunely 
 rescued by Manrico. Third xict — Leonora and Manrico about 
 to be married, and as the ceremony is about to take place Man- 
 rico hears of the capture of his mother by the Count. He de- 
 parts to her rescue. Last Act — The "Miserere." Leoi ora 
 seeks to rescue Manrico, who has been captured by the Count 
 in battle and is confined iu prison. She is intercepted by the 
 Count, who eventuall} promises to release Manrico upon her 
 promising to wed him (the Count). Leonora in the meantime 
 has secretly taken poison, determined to die rather than wed 
 the Count. She seeks Manrico iu prison, and while beg~ing 
 him to fly for his life the poison takes eft'etit and sh^^ dies, to 
 the great distress of Maurico and the chagrin of the Count.
