According to the returns obtained in June, 1889 (the last returns obtained), the
Division Court clerks appointed by the Government were 166. Of these 164 were
Protestants and 12 were Catholics. Old Division Court clerks appointed by judges
under the old law were 161, of these 144 were Protestants and 7 Catholics. The propor-
tion remains about the same.
Of fiailiffs, 191 were appointed by the Government, viz.
Cptholios, and 140 were appointed by judges under the old law.
Catholics. The proportion also remains about the same.
