on the faith of an announcunent in his catalogue,
authorizing provincial societies to offer them. He
has since declined to ^rant them, on the ground of
having already offered them to two other associa-
tions in J^ova Scotia,
The offer is therefore withdrawn from our prize
list.

1. The torni " spcciincu" implies any-
thing entered for competition.
2. All exhi])its must be entered with
the Secretary, 1\. J. Wilson, P. 0. bux
6y0, Falifax, or with the Treasurer, A.
^laokiuh^y, 137 (!raiivillc Street, Halifax,
at least one week previous to the Exlii-
bition, namely, not later than Tuesday,
27th August, and exhibitors failing to
forward their entry pajiers l:>y that date
will uot be allowed to compete for prizes.
Entry blanks will be supplied to intend-
ing exhibitors by the Secretary or Trea-
surer.
3. An entry ticket, with a luimber
but no exhibitor's name, will be given
by the Secretary for each exhibit, which
entry ticket must be attached by the ex-
hibitor to his exhibit, for identification.
4. The Piink will be open on Monday,
2nd September, the day preceding the
Exhibition, from 1 till 9 o'clock p. m.,
for the reception and arrangement of
specimens, and on the morning of Tues-
rlay 3rd, from G till 9 o'clock a. m.,
by which time all specimens must be ar-
ranged and ticketed and the room cleared.
No person except exhibitors and tlioi^t^
engaged in making arrangemeutri will bo
admitted previous to the opening of the
Exhibition.
5. All specimens must be properly
named and labelled as far as possible.
6. The Committee reserve the privi-
lege to reject any specimens which they
may consider unworthy or unlit for Ex-
hibition. All exhibits shall Ijc under
their sole control, and none can bo re-
moved before thu close of the Exliibition
without their permission.
7. Competent judges will be employed
to make the awards, and no protest will
be entertained, except in case > if evidence
of fraud. Xo judge shall be a competi-
tor in a variety where his decision is to
be given. Judges must not let their
awards be known, except through the
Executive Committee.
8. The judges will meet at 10 o'clock
a. m. on Tuesday, and proceed witl' their
work of determining prizes, after which
they will hand their books to tlie Score-

12. All sales of articles on exhilntion

13. Exhibits may bo removed after
5 p. m., ou Thursday, 5th.
14. All expenses of transportation to

exhibitors.

loss or damage that may occur during the
exhibition.
POTTLTEY.
IG. All specimens .shall be exhilritcd
in pairs, one male and one female, except
chickens, which shall be in collections of
not less than four, and cage birds, which
may be entered singly. Ko change will
be allowed with the occupants of com-
IDeting coops.
17. All specimens, which must, at the
time of the exhibition, be the bona-fide
property of tho exhibitor, must be ex-
hibited in attractive and convenient coops
or cages, open only at the front, and
which c;in be easily opened by the judges
or attendants, with proper appliances for
food and water ; they must, for conveni-
ence and uniformity of arrangement, be
of the following dimensions, outside mea-
surement : — 2h feet high, 2 feet deep, 2^
to 3^ feet long. For liantains and Pigeons
19 inches high, 11 to 15 inches deep,
and IS to 28 incl.'os Imij,'. Ci.nps for
Turkeys .,nd (Jeese may be .T feet high,

25. The Exhibition -will be open to the
public on Tuesday, September 3rd, at 2
o'clock, p. m., and be open daily from 10
u. m. until 10 p. m., closing on Thurs-
day 5th, at 5 p. m.
Admission. — Single tickets, adidts, 25
cents ; children under 12 years of age,
10 cents; season tickets, 50 cents.
