IV.— OF THE VISITORS. 1 1. The President and Vice Presidents of the Corporation, acting jointly or singly, are Visitors of the College, with power to inspect, from time to time, the state of the College, its concerns, management and ])roceedings ; — to adjust disputes ; to direct and enforce the reformation of any irregularity, neglect, or abuse, — and for this purpose to <-all before him or them any Officer, resident Graduate, Student, or Servant of the College, — if need be, acting jointly, to remove or suspend any such Officer, resident Graduate, Student^ or Servant, for misconduct or incompetency, — and to make siu;h further provisions or regidations as may seem to him or them expedient ; — I'rovided always, that such Provisions and Regulations be not contrary to the principles on which the College is founded, that they be ap|iroved and signed by a majority of the Visitors, and that they be laid before the Corporation at their next ensuing meeting and be subject to their approval ; but such Pro- visions and Regulations shall liave force and effect until altered or annulleil by the Corporation. Triniti/ — From the tirst Saturday in April to the hist Wed- nesday in June. c. — During these terms constant residence will be reqniied of all Students, unless they be jirevented by ill health, or be detained by urgent business; in either case, notilication and proof must be given to the Princijtal ; and in the latter, leave of absetice obtained from him. No term shall be counted to any Student as a term of residence, in which he has not been able to reside at least three quarters of the term. d. — The College Council jiiay dispense with the actual residence in College of those Students whose parents or natural guar- dians jeside in Lennoxville, or so near the C'ollege that the Students may attend the prayers and exercises of the Institu- tion. e. — Persona dt^slrons of attending particular courses of lectures delivered in the College, without becoming regular Students, may do so with permission of the College (.ouncil ; but such persons shall observe tlu- rules of the College during such temporary attendance in so far as these may be applicable to their cases. 3. The candidate shall write, recite, aad submit to the ExaminerH for ap- proval, an original Tract or Treatise, in the Englisli, French, Latin, or Greek languages, on some subji'ct connected witli one or other of the Arts, to bo chosen by tlio candidate, and appi-oved by the College Council- The said Tract or Treatise shall be left iu the hands of the Examiners, to be used as the Convocation shall direct. 2. Faculty ok Divinity. For admission to the Degree of Bachelor of Divinity. The candidate shall be examined in the Epistles (in the original) of the New Testament; one Latin and one Greek Treatise of one of the Fathers of the Church ; Ecclesiastical History generally, and the History of the Church <'f England ; one of the major Pro])hets, or the \diole of the minor. lie shall also write a Latin sermon on a subject to be given out nt the time of the Examination. For admission to the Degree of Doctor of Divinity. V. Provision for existing irregular n/se?. Those Clergymen who have been ordained from this College shall be allowed to present themselves for examination for tlie Degree of Bachelor of Divinity, as if they had taken the Dcgr.^es of Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts. Any of the abovenamcd persons whatsoever, and also any others wlio have kept six terms in the College previously to the time nt which it received tlie power to confer Degrees, may become candidates for exami- nation for the Degree of Bachelor of Arts, without farther residence.
