WISEMAN THOS. FRASER MR E. B. BUSTEEO. aMmr«MniMlfl CONSTITUTION AND LV-LAWS OF THE TUQUE BLEUE TOBOGGAN CLUB AFFILIATED WITH THE Montreal Amateur Athletic Association. ARTICLE I. NAME. The name of this Association shall be the "tuque BLEUE TOBOGGAN CLUB.'» ARTICLE II. BADGE, 'he badge of the Club shall be selected annually by the Committee and shall be furnished by the Treasurer to each member on payment of hi.s dues. ARTICLE III. OFFICERS. Its officers shall consist nf a President, ist and 2nd Vice-Presidents, a Secretary and a Treasurer, to be elected by ballot at the Annual General Meeting of the Club, to be held on the first Monday of Novem- ber. A Committee of Management of seven members shall also be elected by ballot at the rame meeting, who with the above officers, shall constitute a Committee to manage all the business of the C lub. No mcmb«r shall be elected to the office of President for more than two consecutive yerirs. ARTICLE IV. DUTIES OF PRESIDENT. It shall be the duty of the President to preside at all meetings to see that the rules of the Club aref'rictly enforced, to call special meetings of the Club upon the request of the Committee of Management, or of any fifteen members (the request of any fifteen members to be given in wrilmg,) not less; than six day's notice of such special meeting to be given. He shall also declare the votes and have general super- vision over ihe affairs of the Club. In the absence of the Fresident, one of the Vice Presidentr shall peiionn his duties. ARTICLE V. SECRETARY. The Secretary shall keep a record of the transactions of all meetings, notify members of their election, and conduct all the correspondence of the Club. ARTICLE VI. TREASURER. The Treasurer shall collect all annual subscriptions and keep a regular account thereof, which must be submitted to the Committee of Management whenever required, and he can make no disbursements without the consent of the Committee. ARTICLE VII, COMMITTEE. The Committee of Management shall have charge of, and with the President, control all masters affecting the welfare of the Club, subject to this Constitution, and decide all questions of difference that may arise affecting the interests of the Club. They shall also have full powers to regulate the use of the slide and to declare it closed whenever they de*r -^ it necessary. They shall hold meetings as often as the business of the Club requires and whenever summoned b' the Presid'^ni. ARTICLE VIII. QUORUM. At all meetings of the Club (15) fifteen shsll form a quorum, and at all Committee meetings (5) five shall form a quorum for the transaction of busineis, ARTICLE IX. REMOVAL OF OFFICERS. Any officer of the Club can be removed from office by a vote of two-thirds of the members present at a meeting called for that special purpoiie, and his successor immediately elected. ARTICLE X. MEMBERSHIP 1 —Membership in this Clubshailbc limited to Amateurs : — 8 An Amateur is any person who has never com- ^* peted in any open competiiion, or for a Leake, or for " public money, or for admission money, or under I* a false name, or with a professional, for a prize, or *^ where gate money is charged ; and who has never II at any period of his life taught or assisted in the pur- sun of athletic exercises as a means of a livelihood." II.—Those elected to membership in the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association under the By-Laws of that Association shall be members of this Club. III. —Eveiy candidate for membership in this Club alone must be proposed in writing by one member and seconded by another, and such proposition handed to the Secretary to be laid before the Committee for election. The election shall be by ballot, one black b£.!: to exclude the applicant. The annual subscription for such members shall be ($3) three dollars, payable at the dale of the Annual Meetirg, and membership shall be forfeited unle.-s dues are paid before the first of January. IV.— Members can obtain from the Treasurer, badges entitling boys under 15 years of age to use the Club's slide, when open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 9 a. m to g p. m. and on Saturdays until 2 p, m., on payment of ($1) one dollar. v.— Lady Associate members may be elected and en- titled to the use of the Club slides only. The annual subscriptions shall be ($1) one dollar. ARTICLE XJ. SUSPENSION AND EXPULSION. I.-A member I guilty of ungenilenianly conduct shall be suspended from the privileges of the Uub by the Committee. II.— A member guilty of ungentlemanly conduct may be expelled from the Club by a two-thirds vote of the members present at a meeting called for that purpose, with six day's previous notice. Six day's notice by registered letter shall also be given the member con- cerned. ARTICLE XII. 1.— Members using the slide must wear the Club's badge for that date in some conspicuous place. Club badges are non-transferable and if used by other than the rightful owner they shall be confiscated. II.— Ladies (non-members) will be admitted free to the slide, but must be accompanied by a member. Ill— Visitors to the city may be introduced by r member and will be furnished with a pass to the slide, good for one week, on application to the Secretary. ARTICLE XIII. AMENDMENTS, This Constitution may be altered or amended at any meeting of the Club specially called for that purpose, or at the Annual Meeting, by a vote of two-thirds of the members present, provided six day's notice by adveitisement in two daily papers, of any proposed change has been given.
