Ihe Provincial Duty on Spirits is made chargeable according to .strength by Sykes* Hydrometer, the gallons over-proof being liable to duty. The Credit by Bond, formerly allowed on specific duties amounting to £20, under separate Acts, and the Credit on ad valorem duties amounting to £100, are discontinued. The Credit now allowed for £50 and upwards, is six months^but all bonds after 1st of Sep- tember, are due on 1st April. The Warehousing system is applied to the Provincial Duties,and the same Credit allowed on Goods ex Warehouse as when entered irom the importing ship. The following articles, formerly free, are made liable to 5 per cent. :— Apparel for pri- vate use.
