For many yeara the people of the (latinoau have virtually b of railway corri-
munication ; consequently, the iuimenso ■wealth within the very heart of
the county ia rendered to a groat extent I'seless. The liCgislature ot"
Quebec is asked to grant a cluu-ter for the Ottawa Colonization Bailwajp
Company, in order that the scheme n>ay Ix) completed and rendered
thoroughly Local as well as Provincial in its character- by giving tim
people of the county an outlet at two important j>oints, and furnishing
perpetual feeders to the Q. M. O. it O. Ruilw^ay.

An enterprise of much importance to the entire Ottawa distritit, a«
well as being a feeder to the Q. M. O. A 0. Railway from Ottawa to Mon-
treal, is now in course df organization. It is ]iroposed to construct a raihray
from the Desert to Hull, thus opening up a magnificent Btretch of timber
and agricultural country. At the same time a Bill is now tjcfonj the Pt«-
vincial Legislature asking for powers to construct a railway thiough the rkli
