One point which gives value to this work is the fact that in its pages first appears Auchinleck's '' History of the War of 1812." This commenced in vol. 2 and concluded in vol. 5. The numerous illustrations of Canadian cities and portraits of early governors, also places connected with the War of 1812, and the fashions of the day, give added interest to a work fast becoming very scarce.
