Marsh, and published in the American Journal of Science and Arts for 1867, vol. xliii, second series. Since then the list has more than doubled, and it was thought that the publication of a new catalogue, brought d(iwn to date, would b(! useful to nianv of tin; members of t'le Institute of Minintr En- gineers. The compiler will be most thankfid to have any omissions or inaccuracies in the list sent to him, to be published as a supple- ment in the n(!Xt volume of the Transactions. Especially to have the correct title, number of pages, plates, and maps of i.ny volume on the list to which an * is prefixed, as he lias been unable to personally consult such works. A preliminary list was issued last February, which has been al- most doubled by the kindness of many friends.
