This is placed on the N. E. extremity nf Campn Bello, and is a guide to vessels entering the main channel to West Isles, Moose Island, and the inner Bay of Passamaquuddy ; it ena- bles vessels also at all times to enter Head Harbour. Point Lt Preau Lighti.— Upon this projecting Head Land, two Lights have lately been placed, one above the other, and distant 18 feet. Both lights may be seen from «vcry point of the Compass, where thny maybe useful. ^ ^ • . , Partridge htand Light.^Thh Light at the entrance of the River, and Harbour of 8t John, having been established upwards of 40 years, retpiires no particular notice. Beacon Light. — Wiiiiin Partridge Island, and upon a spit or bar, which extends about half a mile, S. S. E. of Sand Point, and which dries at | ebb, stands the Beacon Tower. The Commissioners of Light Houses for Nova Saotia, under date of the 30th October, 1832, gave notice, that the Light House building en Low Point, at the entrance of Sydney Harbour, Cape Breton, would bo finished on the 1st November, and lighted on or ab^ut the 15th of that lAonth. It would be a fixed Light on the East point of the entrance of the harbour.
