 government of tliis Lroge, shall be, and they are hereby 
 declared and enacted toh be, null and void and of none e^ 
 feet, excepting so far as' the same may be necessary fur the

 call the Lodge together at all times when they sfialt see 
 occasion — the hour of meeting shall be at seven of .^e clock 
 in the evening, and the Lodge shall be closed at ten of the 
 clock, unless business shall require it (o be kept open a 
 longer time — which time shall be at the discretion of the^

 IIL That for the speedy convening of this Lodge^ 
 every Member (if he be wiihin the limits of the Lodge) 
 that does not appear, in clean and decent, apparel, within 
 thirty minutes after the time prescribed by cap. i, § 2, 
 although the Lodge he not opened, shall be fined one 
 shilling and threepence ; at.d the same, if he be. regularly 
 summoned on an enKrgtncy, the same thirty minutes al- 
 lowed as on the regular Lodge nij^ht«, unless his reasons 
 for such absence be absolutely satisfactory to the Master 
 and a majority of the Brethren ; and the Master, War- 
 dens, Secretary, or Treasurer, neglecting to attend at the

 the mysteries of Masonry in this Lodge, ^li make appli- 
 cation in writing, agreeably to the annesked form, and be 
 proposed inform^ on a regular Lodge night, by a Member 
 of the Lodge, which proposition must be seconded by 
 another Member ; he must then stand over one month, or 
 until the next regular Lodge night, at least, that a dile 
 enquiry may be made into his character and capacity ; for 
 which purpose, a Committee of two Members thall be ap- 
 pointed, who shall make report previous to his being bal> 
 lotted for ; when, if the said.ballot shall prove unanimous, 
 (and on no other consideration) he shall be admitted. This 
 regulation to extend lo Brethren desirous of joiningMhu 
 Lodge, as well as to candidates for the mysteirtes.

 ' II. That if any Member shall at any time presume 
 to come into this Lodge in a state of intoxication, cursei 
 swear, or use any profane language, or shall behave him- 
 self with disrespect to the Master, Wardens, or Brethren 
 of this Lodge, in any manner so as to disturb the peace 
 j»nd harmony of Ihe firethcen, he shall for such offence be 
 expelled the Lodge. 
 
 in. That in Jl debates concerning the affairs of the 
 Lodge, complaints made, or questions that may arise, every 
 Brother shall stand up while he spe-oks, and address him- 
 self to the Chair ; and if more than one speak at a time, 
 the Master shall order the first who stood up to proceed, 
 and the rest shall immediatel) sil down and be silent until 
 such Brother has done speaking. And at all times when 
 the Master shall strike with his Gaoel^ a profound silence 
 shall be observed ; and no private altercations or dispute

 And whenever it shall be deemed necessary fo appoint 
 Committees to transact any business relative to this Lodge,

 Orderly and Regulations, as laid down in the last edition 
 of the Book of Constiiutiom of Masonry, and such as shall 
 bereafter be made, or published by the authority of the 
 Grand Lodge. 
 
 Vi. That unless nine Members are present, no per- 
 eon can be either balloted for, entered, passed, or raiM ; 
 neither shall any Law of this Lodge be made, altered, or 
 amended, and not then, except approved of by two-thirds 
 •f thie Members piesent. 
 
 VI L That t^se Laws shall be read at the making of 
 •very Brother, and upon every regular Lodge night, (un« 
 less busine«s of more importance shall interfere) if thought 
 necessary by the Master ; and it is the joint expectation 
 of the Member^ of this Lodge, that the Master and presi- 
 ding Officen[fbr the time being, will, on all occasions, exert 
 luch authority as frem time to time may, or shall be nrces- 
 laryf for the enforcing a due and strict observance of these 
 Laws and Regulations. 
 
 If any Member break any of these Rules or Orders^ 
 he shall, for such offence, be expelled the Lodge, or suffer 
 such other punishment as the Master and a majority of tl»; 
 JjSrethren shall see fit to direct.
