Frovince of Ontario, Canada. i^v" (ProporiiL's [n the City of Hamilton, are advertised in ji separate List.,* '-^^1 JULY 1st, 1880. HAMILTON, ONTARIO. WITH SUPPLEMENT 'i'ENANT E.\RME1<.S and others coming out to America with the intention of (purchasing land and settling, are recom- mended 10 buy their tickets direct for tlie City of Hamilton, whicii lies at the head of navigation on l-ake Ontario, and is sit- uated in t'^f heart of the finest agricultural district of Ontario, the Garden Province of Canada. From this central point railways Ijranch out in every direction, by means of which the Farms .idvertised in,OLir list can be easily reached; and the cost of living here is as low, if not lower, than in any other place in the Province. Hei'ore starting they should write to us naming the parcels on our hst which they would like to insi)ect, and giving the probable (late of their arrival here, so that proper arrangements may b; < made for seeing the properties at, once and thus saving time and expense. We would advise the head of the family to come out first where it is possible to do so, and carefully select a suitable pro- jierty. After having done so, he can then either return for his family or get them to follow him. This will give him more leis- \ire to make a proper selection, and emble him to have a home provided for his family before their arrival in Canada. We ir.ite correspondence Jind will be happy to furnish all information in our jjower to intending Emigrants. For general information in reference to the country, we direct attention to the pamphlets published by the Ontario and Dominion Governments, which may be obtamed on appli- cation to their agents in Great Britain and Ireland. In this Catalogue a large number of farm lands are each described in a single Ime givnig No. of" parcel, lot, concession, acres, and price. We may remark that, in such ca.ses, where nothing is said about improvements, there are : none, and the properties referred to are what are kndwn as Wild or Bush lands. ^ " It will be observed that as a general rule the Number and Concession of Lots composing Improved Farms are not"' given in this Catalogue. One reason for the omission of these ' particulars >s, that many owners who wish to sell their larms, ' have from various causes strong objections to this fact being know.i to their neighbours. We, therefore, simply, give the number of each i)arcel as it appears in our books, with a full description of the land, price, terms \"c., in the priraed list , but, on application to us or any of our local agents (of whom there are between 100 and 200 in various parts of the Province) all other particulars will be given. '' We may add that we do not hold ourselves responsible for correctness of the descriptions of properties appearing in our list; these are furnished by the owners, but, as those who intend purchasing land will eitiier examine ii for .themselves, or get some one to examine it tor them, nothing ca-i be gained by de- ception. We insist upon owners giving us a fair description ol each property ])laced in our hands for sale, and we believe that these descriptions will generally be found correct. IMT. jr.
