Permanent Committee, The ist Principal, after installation on the Regular Convocation in December,shall appoint a Permanent Committee of Pxonomy and Finance, to superintend the finances, audit the hooks and voucliers o^ the Treasurer and the Scribe E. It shall consist of five (5) Com- panions, three of whom shall form a quorum ; they shall meet whenever summoned by the 20 Ai. 21 I St Principal or their Chairman ; and the result of their proceedings shall be reported to the Chapter at its next regular convocation. They shall present a report at Annual con- vocation in December of each year, shewing the progress made in the Chapter and Lodges dvjr- ing the year, the state of its finances, the naine^s of all brethren or Companions twelve months in arrears, the number of times each officer has- been absent from the meetings of the Chapter, together with any suggestions for the futurt- government thereof as they may diink desirable to place before the Chapter. Duties of Treasurer It shall be the dutv of the Treasurer 'tu [rv'ceiv'e all dues, and deposit the same in a k)uebec Savings* Bank, to tiie credit of the Stadacona Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, to be drawn on the joint order of the isf Principal and Treasurer ; the Treasurer having power to Irctain in his hands a sum not exceeding forty [dollars, and pay all bills rec;ularly approved by the Chapter, and have his Book and Vouchers [ready at all times tor inspection, more particu- ilarly at the Annual Convocation in December, [when all moneys in hand must be paid over to mis successor. IJ ^..•;> Janitor s Duties, The Janitor shall attend all convocations, and receive from Scribe E. and distribute all notices relating to the meetings and other busi- ness of the Chapter, and intermediate Lodges. He shall take care of, and keep in good order, the furniture, jewels, and other property of the Chapter ; for which services he shall receive the sum of one dollar for each meeting, and fifty cents for every exaltation. XIV. Clothinz. Every Companion must be properly clothed .13 a R. A, M., according to the Regulations of the Supreme Grand Chapter of Canada. XV. By-Laws. Every Companion being a member of the Chapter, must sign these By-Laws, in token of submission thereto, and shall be entitled to a printed copy thereof c 26 %1 XVI. ^lalification of Candidates. Every candidate for exaltation, except by a dispensation from the first G. P. Z,, must produce satisfactory proof of his having been a Master Mason for at least three calendar months, and shall be proposed and balloted for in the manner provided for, XVIL Secrecy e^ijoined. Any member of intermediate Lodges, or Chapter, disclosing any of the proceedings, or anv of the decisions or business of any kind, done at any meeting of the Lodges or Chapter, shall subject himself and be liable to a severe from the Chair ; a second offence shall render him liable to exclusion.
