All wood must be split from the body of the tree, to average four feet long from Kcarp to point, no stiek to be of unreasonable size, must be free from all crooked, crotchcd, or knotty sticks, and cut from growing trees, with the bark on ; to be delivered at the places agreed upon, and there closely and evenly piled up in piles not less than eight feet high, and in all cases with the bark uppermost, and a space of three feet left between every two piles. Suitable stringers must be firmly laid on the ground ; when necessary the snow must be removed for that purpose, and upon them the said Wood shall be piled Piles which may, from the melting of the snow or any other cause, fall down before the final measurement is made, must be replied. The final measurement shall not bo made until the snow and ice have so far disappeared as to admit of its being correctly taken. All Wood delivered witn the bark oil' will only be received at a reduction of twenty- five per cent, from the prices specified. Soft Wood must not be mixed with Hard Wood, but kept in distinct and separate piles, the one from the other; the ends of piles must be well headed up; and where said ends of piles are headed up with the wood laid crosswise, only hall the measurement of the same will be allowed. Wood that is piled more than four feet below the level of the track will not be accepted. All Hard Wood must be cut from Hickory, White Oak, Hard Maple, Beech, Black Birch, or Ironwood. All Soit Wood must lie cut from Tainarac, Hemlock, Soft Maple, White Ash, Rock or Grey Elm. The whole to be perfectly sound.
