At a meeting of the Electors and Non-electors of "Ward 6, !ity of Halifax, held on the 18th day of December, 1879, for "e purpose of forming a Liberal- Conservative Association in e Ward, the following Constitution and Bye-Laws were idopted. This Association shall be callerl the Libei-al- >nservabive Association of Ward 5, of the City of lalifax. Its Objects shall be : — 2. To promote union and mutual understanding between the electors of the Ward who suppoit or favor the principles of the Liberal-Conservative Party of Canada. 3. To instruct the present and future electors of e Ward in the principles and policy of the party, ho's aim it is to open up New Industries, and to irotoct the Commerce, and devdope the Argricultural d Industrial resources of the Country. 4. To maintain a careful and constant supervision the electorial lists in order that the members of the arty may not be deprived of their franchise. 5. To undertake the management of Dominion and rovincial Elections in the Ward, and to co-operate ith the Executive Committee of the Liberal- Con ser- tive Party in the County of Halifax. 6. The Association shall consist of the electors and n-electors of the Ward, who shall be admitted to embership in accordance witlj tjje Bye-Laws. t^YE-LAWS. lisue 1 Associ 1. Tlie office bearers shall be a President, twi Vice Presidents, a Secretary, a Treasurer, and a Councj consisting of the above Officers and one representative from each electoral district in the Ward, who sha- be elected by ballot on the second Thursday in Januai of each year, and who shall retain office until the successors ara elected ; retiring officers shall be eligibl for re-eleetion. 2. Of Members. — Members shall be elected l] nomination and ballot, a majority will be required elect. No one shall be admitted to the privileges memberahip, until he has signed the roll. 10. Honorary members may be elected by majority vote *t any of the meetings of the Assooi] tion. 11. Every enrolled member shall pay annuall 40 cents, oi- ten cents per quarter, towards the fuiij of the Association. No member shall be entitled vote, who is one year in arrears. 12. The Constitution and Bye-Laws shall not amended, altered or repealed, unless by a majority \( of the members present at a regular meetiiil two-thirds of those present and voting, beii required to form a majority.
