 I. The Members of tl»e Agricultural Societies 
 «t the wvpral Townshiim within the County or 
 Klectoral Division, or Uniteti Counties, whernin 
 the Annual Kxhibition may be held, and the 
 merab«rii of the County or Electoral Division 
 Aocioty, shall be also nr.embers of the Association 
 for that year, i)rovideti the Agricultural Societies 
 «f Uie said Townships, or the So<.'iety of the said 
 Countv, cr Electoral Division, or United Coun- 
 tUA, shall devote their whole funds for the year, 
 inoluding the Government Grant, in aid of the 
 Aseodation, and shall nay over the saraa, accom- 
 panied with a list of tne members of each such 
 Society, to the Treasurer of the Association, tvo 
 weeks previous to tlie Exhibition ; and provided 
 also that the sum su paid over shall not be Icm 
 than one dollar for each member of any such 
 Society. 
 
 1. The members of the Board of Agiiculture. 
 <>r Council of the Association, the Presidents and 
 Vice-Presidents of all lawfully orgitnized f'ount^ 
 Agriotil ural 8o<neties, of all Horticultural Socie- 
 ties, and of the Mechanics' Institutes, are mem- 
 bers of the Association for Ontario, ex-officio. The 
 payment of one dollar and upv-Rrds conntituteji a 
 person a member of the Asw iution for one year, 
 and ten dollars for life, when ^(iven for that sjw- 
 ciftc object, and not as a contribution to the loool 
 funds. 
 
 t. Members can enter articles for compel ition 
 in every department of the Kxhibition, at any 
 time previous to the dates bulow mentioned.

 7. In the ciatt^js of Blood Hurses and pare- 
 bred cattle, full pedigrees, properly certtfled, 
 must accompany the entrj', No animals w^li be 
 allowed to compe e as pun* bre«l unless they 
 possess regular Stud or Herd Rook pedigrees, or 
 satisfactory evidence be produceit tnat they are 
 dire<;tlv descended from snrh stock. In the class 
 of Durham cattle particularly, no animal w'll be 
 entered for competition, unlesa the pedigree of 
 the sane be first inserted in the English, Ameri- 
 can, or Canadian Herd Book, or in the Canada 
 Stoirk Register, kept at the office of the Board of 
 Agriculture, Toronto. 
 
 8. Orain, Field Itooti, and other Fnrm Pr*- 
 dtuts. Agricultural Implemenls, Machinery, and 
 Manufacture* generally, must be entered previous 
 to or on Saturday, August 29th, three weeks pre- 
 ceding tho Show. 
 
 9. HnrliciUturai ProduHs, Ladies' IVork, the 
 Fine Arts, A-c, may be entered up to Satnrday, 
 September 12th, one clear week preceding the 
 Show.

 in every instance be made in the name of the 
 bo)ia Jule owner ; and unless this rale be nb r»rved 
 no premium will be awarded, or if awai JtJ, will 
 be withheld. 
 
 12. In all the other classes, entries must be 
 made in the names of the produuttrs or mannfae- 
 turer.s only, and by .such producers themselves in 
 person, or their agents duly authorize*!. If any 
 person shall enter an article for exhibition, as 
 produced or manufactured by himself, when it 
 has not really been so, he shall forfeit any pre- 
 mium which may be awarded the article, and be 
 precluded fro-n exhibiting in future. 
 
 13. In all the department'?, the competition is 
 open to exhibitors from any part of the workl, 
 without reservation.

 36. No person shall act as a judge in any class 
 in which ho shall be an exhibitor. 
 
 87. In addition to the stated prenuums olferol 
 for articles enumerated in the list, the judges 
 will have the power to award discretionary pre- 
 miums f«r such articles, not enumerated, as tnev 
 may consider worthy, and the Directors wifl 
 determine the amount of premium. The judges 
 may also distinguish such anintala or articles as 
 they consider deserving of notice, but which have 
 not received i)rize«, by tickets with the words 
 "Highly Commended, or "Commended," upon 
 them. Tliese tickets will not entitle the holder 
 to any money payment. 
 
 38. In the Fine Arts and Mechanical Depart- 
 ments, Diplomas will be awarded, in addition to 
 the money prizes, to any specimen evincing 
 gre^it skill in its produ<;tioii, or deemed other- 
 wise worthy of such a di.stinction, on its being 
 recommended by the judges and approved of by 
 the Committee, to whom all such mattc^rs shall 
 be referred.

 inferior quality, the judges are instructed to award
