We regard these and all other provisions of the law by which a connection between the State and the Roman Catholic Church exists, as creating inequalities and imposing disadvantages on the Protestant minority which no subject of Her Majesty in this Dominion should be called upon to endure. We further protest against any acceptance of the doctrine of supremacy of the Church over the State, and the practice of giving equality of position on State occasions to the chief officer of the Roman Catholic Church with Her Majesty's Representative in ihe Province."
