AM Fruit, Flowers, and Vegetables, placed in compctit on for premiums are to be the growth of competitors, and are to lie arranged in as tasteful a manner as possible. 2. All articles lobe exhibited for premiums must be placed in the stands by ten o'clock, a. m. This rule will be strictly adhered to. 32 3. All articles exhibited shall remain in the Hall until the close of the exiiibilion, when they will be delivered to ihc contributors, unless otherwise di- rected. 4. That the PRIZES ARE OPEN to the COM- PETITION of UPPER CANADA without any additional stipulation. 2. That articles from the United States will be admitted for EXHIBITION, but not ;\s Competi- tors for Prizes — exctipt '• Stock and Implements," as provided for on page 20, Section X ; and also the Special Prizes. 3. The site determined on, is the '•' M'Tavish Property," on the upper side of Sherbrooke Street, the most picturesque and eligible position that could be desired. The Sheds for Cattle, ike, will be covered, and Fodder, Jk,c., (furnished by contract,) will be supplied under the direction of the Com- mittee. 4. Discretionary Premiums will be awarded for such articles as may be considered worlliy by the Judges, although not enumerated in the List, and the Committee will determine the amount of pre- , mium. 5. A Revised Prize List, &c., price 3d.— or, with a Lithograph Plan of Ground and Buildings, price 7^d. — will be published about the 1st of Sep^ tember, and may be had from the principal Book', sellers throughout the Province. Applications, by letter, to be post-paid. 6. The arrangements made with the Steamboats, Railroad Companies, and Hotel Keepers, will be an- nounced as soon as possible. 7. It is the intention of the Local Committee, in addition to the immediate objects of the Exhibition in promoting an increased interest in Agricultur* and Industrial pursuits, to render the visit to the City of Montreal attractive and agreeable to strangers and visitors, and greatly superior to anything that has yet been attempted in the Province.
