 cular from Board of education, on the subject of education of school teachers 
 in Normal Schools. Application of H. C. Barwick, Esq.,to be appointed Treas- 
 urer ; From George Hendry, to be appointed Superintendent of education 
 for District; From Clerk of the Peace to VVarden,%nclosing order ot Quar- 
 ter Sessions, asking for £207 9s. 4d., to defray the expenses of the adminis- 
 tration of Justice, from the 7th of April, o the 7th of July last, and Audi- 
 tors' report.

 by and under the authority of an act of the I'rovincial Parliament of Canada, entilleit, -An act to provide for

 Be it therefore CTiactcd by tho Municipal Council of the District of Brock, held by virtue of, and umler the aii. 
 ihority of an act of this Province, entitled "An act to provide for tlie better internal (Jovernment of tiiat part of 
 this Prnvinc3 formerly constituting the Province of Upper Canada, by the establishment of Local or I\luncipal 
 nuthorities therein ;"'Tliat a By-Law of this Council par-yed on the T^th day of February, in the year 1840, en- 
 titioda "Bv-Lav/ of the Municipal Council of the District of Bruck, repealing a By-Law imposing a tax of one 
 jH-.nny firtliing per acre on all lands vvitiuu the District of Brock, for tlje general puri)osos of the District and for 
 other purposes therein aamc'l" Ic and tlic same is hereby repealed, provided nevertheless that the By-Law re- 
 pealed by rlie said By-Law sliall remain repealed S7 far as the imposition of taxes is cf ncenied, and shall not be 
 construed to revive any portions of the saidBy-Law, other than that enabling the Treasurer to collect the ariear* 
 ages due by the said imposition.

 due under the authority of the said By-Law, in the name, manner and as ctl ;ctual as if the same had never teen
