 The cistern c^the Barometer is about bifeet above the level of the Sea. All the Observations 
 were made at 9 30. a.m. and 3.30. p.m. daili/ throughout the year. 
 
 There were slight froata nearly every night in the month of April, and once in May (16th ;) they did not 
 r- .ommence imtil the 9th of October. The severe frosts of January, and Febi-uary, have been unknown 
 lor many years. 
 
 Thunder and Lightning occurred on the 24th May, 24th July, and 22nd, 29th, and 30th of August. 
 
 Tableshewingthedepthofrain, the number of days on which it fell, the mean humidity (9. 30. a.m. and

Rain fell on 8 days when the wind was South, 4— S.W., 3— W., 5— N.W., 8— N.E., 43— E., 26— S.K. 
 and 38 when calm. 
 
 The greatest fall of rain in 24 hoiira measured 2.260 inches, and was on the 20th March. The average 
 fall for every day of the year was 0.130 inches, and for each wet day it was 0.352. 
 
 amoimt of Ozone this year was very small, its mean daily number would be represented by 8 on 
 lie, and it seldom exceeded 6, During the greater part of October, November, and December, there

 was little indication of its presence. Tn November and the early part of December there were heavy logs,

 Rain was more oqually distributed throughout all the months this year than in 1860 or 1861, 
 
 In the winter month.s, January to March, and October to December, 31.G82 inches of rain fell in 18G2, 
 41.230 in 18GJ , and 40.580 inches in 18G0. In the remaining months 15.785 inches fell in 1862, 19.255 
 in 18G1 and 13.834 in 18G0. 
 
 The prevailing direction of the wind during rain in each year was E. and S.E. The absolute limiting 
 nights of frost in the three years were nearly the same.

 Ice appeard on the 1st of January 18G2, and the river at New Westminster wasunnavigable on 
 the 4tii, it was completely frozen over on the flth, and the Ice attained a thickness of 13 inches in the 
 channel opposite the R. E. Camp, on the 12th of February. Sleighs were running from Langley, to several 
 miles below New Westiniii.ster, and persons walked from Hope to the latter place,a distance of 80 miles >n 
 the ice, at fhe end of January. Lake Ilarri.son and the other Lakes were liozen. Navigation from New 
 Westminster was open to the mouth of the river on the 11th of March, and from Yale on the 12th April. 
 Again on the 5th December, there was Ice in the River at New Westmin.ster for one day. In January, 
 18G1 there wa.s ice at New Westminster, but the Navigation to the mouth of the River was not jmiieded. 
 In 1 860 there w as no Ice.
