COlTSTITTJTIOlNr OP THE KINGS COUNTY Baptist Sabbath School OF NOVA SCOTIA. ■/:,;' Article I. — This Convention shall be called the Kings Co, Baptist S. S, Convention of Nova Scotia, and shall be com- posed of the members and delegates hereinafter specified. Art. II. — The object of this Convention shall be the dis- cuFsion and adoption of such measures as shall be best suited to the establishment of, and give efficacy to. Sabbath Schools as a means of conveying religious instruction to the young. Art. III.— The Officers of this Convention shall be a Pre- sident, two Vice Presidents, Secretary and Treasurer, who shall be annually appointed from among its members. It shall be the duty of the President, or, in his absence, one of the Vice-Presidents, to r>reside at all the meetings of tho Con- vention, nominate all c mmittees. and perform all the duties naturally connected with his office. It shall be the duty of — - 2 the Secretary to keep a record of all the business transacted, and prepare the Minutes for publication, and it shall be the duty of the Treasurer to receive all the moneys contributed for the purposes of the Convention, and expend them as the Managing Committee shall direct, Art. IV. — The Confention shall annually appo^^^ a Man' aging Committee of five members, ihree of whom- shall reskte in the place designated as the location of the Committee, or in its vicinity, and three shall constitute a quorum. The of- ficers above n«med*»hall be ex- officio members of the Com- mittee. It shall be the duty of the Con^mlttee to weet from time to time for the despatch of business, to expend the funds of the Convention, provide that all amounts contributed for any specific purpose shall be faithfully applied, as far as pos- sible, in accordance with the wishes of the donors 5 to «ndea- vor to advance the general interests of the Convention ; and to furnish a Report of the proceedings of the past year at the Annual Meeting. Art. v.— Every ordained Baptist Minister, and every Bap. tist Licentiate in good standing in the County, and every person acting, at the time being, in the capacity of 8. S. Srp- crintendent, or Teacher in^ny of the Baptist Sabbath Schools in the County fihall be members of this Convention. Every Sabbath School shall also have the right to send not more than five delegates to represent them in the Convention. Art. VI. — The Convention shall meet on the first Thurs- day after the loth day of September, annually. At thi» meeting the officers of the Convention for the ensuing year shall be appointed, and such other business transacted as the members then present shall de«m expedient. Art. Schools of Hants Co. that they wish to withdraw trom this Convention for the purpose ot forming a County Convention and also that this year no letters have been received from School* outside of Kings County and no delegates present from Schools outside the said County. Therefore resolved, that we also withdraw from the Sab' bath School Convention of the Central Baptist Association and form ourselves into a County Conl^entiou. The Conventibn passed a vote recommending the sdhools to adopt the four-fold pledge— vi:« , against bad language^ bad books, tobacco, and liquor of all kinds. A number spoke on this, and showed that it was Very desirable to have the young in our schools free from all this.
