TAN[^EM RACK —One horse to be ridden and the other driven, with reins only ; no traces ; distance, once round the course. HURDLE RACE— foot; 120 yards; 10 flights ; hurdles 3 feet high. CICAR AN!) UMBRELLA RACE-Ladies' nomination. Horses to be bridled. Each competitor to stand by his horse's head wilh saddle on his arm. When the flag falls he is to saddle up, light a cigar, opjn an ordinary umbrella, mount, ride to a p(jint loo yards distant, dismount, open a bottle of soda water and drink ils contents, mount and ride back to starting i)oint over a two foot fence. Any comjjetitor who does not ride in wilh his cigar alight, or who has not kept his und)rella open during the race, will be dis- (|r.alified. MENACERIE RACE — 50 yards. No dv)^s, horses, mules, donkeys or cows allowed. Animals to be driven with a string, not led. Any competitor getting in front of his animal will be disqualifie I. A whip or stick allowed. FOOT RACE — half mile, flat, ('omjietitors over 30 years of age allowed a start of 5 yards for each year over 30. SCREEN RACE — 100 yards. At 30 yards from starting point a two foot fence to be taken ; at 70 yards a p;^per screen in be gone through ; the screen must be broken by the horse and not by the rider ; no backing through the screen allowed. No limit to size of horses ; horses to be entered by their riders. Post entries, $1.50. Tent pegging and lemon cutting if there bj sufficient time. The decision of the Judges to be absolutely final. Prizes in all events to be sweeps, ex:-ept in the foot races, in the Lady's Nomination Race, to which $20 will be a ided, and in the Tug of War, in which the prize will be $20.
